Meet Mango

Originally from Wales, I began my professional singing career about 10 years ago, but have been performing since the age of 3! Singing has been a major part of my life, most likely helped by the fact that both of my parents were musicians themselves.

After training at University to become an actress, I accidently landed a job as a Show singer at a Scottish holiday park, and had good intentions of paying off some of those student loans, (which was a little hard to do on £90 a week!) Thankfully Will, a well paid knight in shinning armour, was doing his first summer season there as a drummer in a band. The next year we joined forces and put together our own band, enabling us to play at some amazing venues not only in the UK but around the world too!

My musical style has grown a lot since living only for the Spice Girls - thanks to all the influential artists I have met along the way. I love the intimacy, and the unique style that we create with Mango, and think I have found the best job in the world singing at weddings. Vocally accompanying a bride down the aisle or singing a couples favorite song for their first dance, gives me a lot of pleasure adding to the emotions of their special day. Although it’s sometimes hard not to get caught up in the moment and get a little emotional myself!

Will left Music College with a diploma at the age of 18, and started work as a full time professional drummer and bandleader around London, UK Holiday parks, and 3 years performing on Princess Cruises as one of their top acts, incorporating the inaugural cruise for MV Sapphire Princess where he spent a total of 12 months. Whilst running a 5-piece show band, in an exclusive venue called “The Lodge” in Dubai, Will and Charlie put together an acoustic set for the chill-out nights, with Will playing acoustic guitar and singing backing vocals, and Charlie singing lead - “Mango” began.

Music has played a huge part in my life. Influenced by loads of bands and artists, I appreciate all styles. Except yodelling. I also enjoy playing the Piano in my spare time, and whenever the weather allows it, spending time riding my Second wife – a Triumph Motorbike. Living in Market Harborough for a year (which is the longest time I have spent anywhere since childhood) has made me feel quite settled, and working at a local music shop (just the one day a week) gives me great pleasure introducing instruments to kids, and adults, just discovering the world of music.

I love playing the guitar, and love our fantastic job of performing for people’s weddings, at the most amazing venues hidden all over the UK. I hope to continue progressing as a guitarist, and look forward to playing at many more Weddings!
