Originally from Wales, Charlie began her professional singing career 12 years ago, but has been performing since the age of 3! "Singing has been a major part of my life, most likely helped by the fact that both of my parents were musicians themselves"
After training at University to become an actress, I accidently landed a job as a Show singer at a Scottish holiday park, and had good intentions of paying off some of those student loans, (which was a little hard to do on £90 a week!) Thankfully Will, a well paid knight in shinning armour, was doing his first summer season there as a drummer in a band. The next year we joined forces and put together our own band, enabling us to play at some amazing venues not only in the UK but around the world too!
My musical style has grown a lot since living only for the Spice Girls - thanks to all the influential artists I have met along the way. I love the intimacy, and the unique style that we create with Mango, and think I have found the best job in the world singing at weddings. Vocally accompanying a bride down the aisle or singing a couples favorite song for their first dance, gives me a lot of pleasure adding to the emotions of their special day. Although it’s sometimes hard not to get caught up in the moment and get a little emotional myself! Charlie x
Hello I’m Will - the Guitarist/ backing vocalist, driver, roadie, website designer, sound-engineer, chief sandwich maker for in-car picnics on the way to weddings, for Mango. I’m also husband to Charlie, which despite living & working together 24/7 for many years, works out surprisingly well. (I like to think we set a good example as to why people should get married, and of course, keep us in a job!)
Charlie and I have been professional musicians for 13 years now, running bands of all shapes and sizes firstly around the UK holiday parks, and then all over the world including spending 4 years as one of Princess Cruises top bands on their fleet of Cruise Ships. Our last summer season abroad was in 2006 in an exclusive venue called “The Lodge” in Dubai where I was drummer and bandleader of a 5-piece rock/pop band called “Storm”. Whilst there, Charlie & I put together an acoustic music set for the chill-out nights, with me playing acoustic guitar for the first time, and Charlie singing stripped-back songs that we’d always wanted to play, but weren’t necessarily suitable songs for our big band to play to the late night rockers & dancers in Dubai!
So that’s how Mango began – and 100’s of weddings later, we still completely love what we do, and love playing for Brides, Grooms, and their guests, for what is almost all the time, a very happy occasion with lots of happy people!
"I would certainly recommend you to others in the future - you were the most professional outfit of all the people I dealt with whilst planning our wedding"
